DJ Evans

New York Natural Heritage Program Director

 

DJ Evans has been Director of the New York Natural Heritage Program (NYNHP) since 2006, where she provides program direction and oversees all programmatic activities for the 24 staff in the program. This involves collaborating with both government and non-government organizations on conservation projects within New York and the Northeast.

 

DJ began her tenure with NYNHP in 1998 as an ecologist, a position she held until 2006. Before then she worked as an ecologist in northern Michigan, both for the USDA Forest Service and in the private sector.

DJ has an M.S. in Forestry and a B.S. in Biology/Aquatic Ecology from Michigan Technological University.
